Cymru- Cuba was born in September 1982 in a Prestatyn hotel and a committed membership has sustained the group since then, which has survived the test of time by taking in a broad church of supporters in Wales, now taking its place proudly alongside sister organisations in over 130 countries which pay tribute to the advances and fortitude of the Cuban people.
Cymru Cuba supporters over the years have included the late great Professor Gwyn Alf Willims, Labour leader Rhodri Morgan, Lord Dafydd Elis Thomas, poets Iwan Llwyd, Tony Conran and the late Gwilym R Jones and Tyrone O'Sullivan of Tower Colliery and Plaid Cymru MP Elfyn Llwyd, who are both long-time supporters of Cymru Cuba.
